C.Marchisio: I don't mind being a substitute in the "Juventus" team © EuroFootball.com

Claudio Marchisio, who contributed with an impressive goal in the victory of "Juventus" in the last "Serie A" round, urges not to underestimate the role of substitute players in the team.

In the final matches of the national championship's first round, the Italian champions crushed the "Cagliari" team 4-1 away.

The midfielder's goal, which brought the score to 1-1, put the visitors ahead and demoralized the opponents.

Interviewed by the news agency "Sky Sport Italia", C. Marchisio did not hide his joy over his and the team's excellent performance.

"The last two seasons were marked by victories in the Italian championship and the Super Cup tournaments, so it is not easy to feel the hunger for victories again. Changes in the team's lineup and the excellent work of the coach once again inspired us to fight unconditionally. The excellent results only prove the benefits of our work," said C. Marchisio.

Antonio Conte's disciples, who finished the first round of the "Serie A" tournament with 52 points, have real chances to reach the 100-point mark, something that no Italian club has achieved.

"We aim not to collect a hundred points, but to win the championship. If we manage to become Italian champions for the third consecutive time, then we could confidently say that this 'Juventus' is the strongest in the club's history," reflected the Italian.

"We cannot dwell on the past and the matches we won; we must move on with the same attitude and focus."

This season, C. Marchisio lost his place in the starting lineup to Paul Pogba. In A. Conte's schemes, this rotation was influenced by injuries and a significant decline in the footballer's form.

"I tried to score a goal not to prove something to myself, but for the victory. Of course, the precise shot gave me more confidence, but I am always ready to give my all regardless of whether I start the game on the bench or in the starting lineup. Everyone wants to play, and it is not easy to accept a substitute role. Nevertheless, the substitute bench significantly contributed to the last two titles won by 'Juventus'," noted C. Marchisio.
