In the last match of the second Spanish league ("Segunda Division"), "Cadiz" and Vigo "Celta" teams secured tickets to the highest league with identical 2-0 victories as guests. Both teams joined "Alaves," who had already secured a spot in "La Liga."

"Cadiz" won 2-0 as guests against "Xerez" and became the champions of the second league, as "Alaves" lost the last match of the season to "Sporting Gijon." Vigo "Celta," who competed in the UEFA Champions League last year, defeated "Lleida" 11v11 in the final round.

The only other team still fighting for promotion to the top league, "Eibar," had to win and hope for "Cadiz" or "Celta" to fail, but only played a draw against "Ferrol."

"Cadiz" returns to "La Liga" after a 12-year hiatus.
