London's Chelsea, coached by Jose Mourinho, left no hopes for the defending champions Manchester United in front of their own fans.
The game started with an unexpected pressure from the "Red Devils", but the visitors couldn't get anything out of it and the game gradually equalized.
Soon during one of Chelsea's attacks, striker Samuel Eto'o shot from a medium distance and the ball went into the net after a ricochet with Michael Carrick.
At the end of the first half, the score became 2 - 0. After a pass from Gary Cahill, S. Eto'o scored again.
The second half started just like the first ended - with a goal from S. Eto'o. In the 49th minute, the score became overwhelming.
As the game approached its end, Javier Hernandez found himself in the right place and time after Phil Jones' shot, and he softened the result.
However, the chances of fighting for at least a point were unrealistic for David Moyes' proteges - the Chelsea team controlled the game.
The icing on the cake was a red card shown by the referee in added time. "Man Utd" defender Nemanja Vidic was punished with it.
At the end of this round, the trio of leaders looks like this - "Arsenal" take the first place, followed by "Man City" and Chelsea with a point difference.
