A. Wenger: Expecting Too Much from Ozil © EuroFootball.com

London's "Arsenal" club strategist Arsene Wenger does not believe that team's midfielder Mesut Ozil can bring success to the team on his own.

The Frenchman is convinced that the footballer bought for a record amount by the club is under great pressure, as both the team's fans and critics expect too much from him.

"Sometimes people expect him to single-handedly determine the course of the game. When the game doesn't go well, they expect Ozil to take the ball and send it into the net," - reassured the 64-year-old specialist.

"Ozil is a creator, not a goal-scorer. He can definitely improve this aspect of his game, but he should be encouraged, not criticized."

"Mesut is 25 years old, so his best years are still ahead of him," said the Frenchman.

In 23 matches in the English Championship and the UEFA Champions League, M. Ozil scored 5 goals and made 10 assists.
