Although the press conference held on Monday by the president of "Barcelona", Sandro Rosell, was intended to present the progress of the Camp Nou stadium renovation, the leader of the Catalan team, as expected, faced questions from the media about the circumstances and price of Neymar's acquisition.
The newspaper "El Mundo" in Madrid reported the day before that "Barcelona" did not pay 57 million euros for the former "Santos" star, as the Catalans officially claimed, but 95 million euros.
"I would like to say once again that Neymar cost us 57 million euros, period. With all due respect, if the judge wishes, he can summon me as a witness in court. There I will tell everything I know. We are absolutely not hiding anything, all the documents have been reviewed by the club's management. Everything is legal," affirmed the leader of the Catalan club.
However, S. Rosell did not disclose all the details of the deal to journalists, but stated that he is willing to do so in court if necessary.
"First of all, it must be understood that 'Barcelona' itself is not hiding anything, but the other parties of the deal do not want the detailed information to be revealed. We have always respected such agreements and will always respect them, so such data will only be disclosed if necessary for court. 'Barcelona' is a completely transparent club and that's all there is to it," emphasized the president. "In addition, the board of directors of the club has never hidden any information from the fans, who have been presented with everything as required by the club's statutes."
