Russia's national team strategist Fabio Capello has extended his contract with the country's football federation and will continue to lead the team for another four years.

The Italian was appointed to the position of head coach of the Russian national team in 2012, replacing Dutchman Dick Advocaat.

According to the new contract, F.Capello will leave his post after the 2018 World Cup, which will be hosted by Russia.

"I am pleased to continue working in this position. I have many plans that we will all strive to implement together and delight Russian fans," said the 67-year-old specialist.

In the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, Russia has been placed in Group H, where they will compete against Belgium, Algeria, and South Korea.
