"Manchester United" newcomer Juan Mata is happy to have moved to the ranks of the English champions, but he also did not hesitate to praise London's "Chelsea" team.
On Friday, the "Red Devils" announced that they acquired a member of the Spanish national team for a record sum for the club. The Spanish midfielder cost 37.1 million pounds for David Moyes' team.
"It was amazing at Chelsea. But over the past six months, it has been difficult for me because I didn't play as much as I wanted to. I understand that this is a team sport, so I respect the current situation," said J. Mata at the "Man Utd" headquarters.
"I am grateful to Chelsea Club, the president, and its fans. The opportunity to play for Manchester United will be a new stage in my career. This is another great club where I will play.
"There are many top-class players in this team. Rooney, Van Persie, Januzaj, Valencia, Chicharito, Welbeck - they are all great footballers. I will do my best to contribute as much as possible to the team's results," added the 25-year-old Spaniard.
J. Mata played for Chelsea's first team since 2011 and played 135 matches. "Valencia" then sold the midfielder to the "Blues" for 23.5 million pounds.
