Liverpool's "Everton" officially announced that they have signed a new long-term contract with the team's left-back Leighton Baines.
Recently, there were reports in the press that former "Toffees" manager David Moyes, who currently coaches "Manchester United," is interested in the services of the English national team left-back.
The 29-year-old footballer's old contract was still valid for 17 months, but after rumors about Baines' future, "Everton" became concerned and offered a new long-term deal.
"We want to announce some very happy news, that our club's best footballer Leighton Baines will continue to be with us," confirmed manager Roberto Martinez.
L. Baines joined the "Everton" club in 2007. During this period, the former "Wigan" defender played 263 matches and scored 25 goals.
