The new president of the Catalonia club, Josep Maria Bartomeu, laughed off rumors that Lionel Messi could leave Barcelona.
Reports have emerged in the press that Paris Saint-Germain club promises to pay a record amount of 250 million euros for the captain of the Argentine national team this summer.
However, the Spaniard who replaced Sandro Rosell in Barca is convinced that L. Messi will not go anywhere and his dream is to finish his career in Barcelona.
"PSG? Messi is very happy in the current team, so I doubt he wants to leave Barcelona," J.M. Bartomeu assured the newspaper "Marca".
"He is the player who practically grew up in our club, as he arrived in Barcelona at the age of just 13. I have always heard that Lionel wants to finish his career at Barca," added the president.
The 26-year-old L. Messi's contract with the Spanish champions is valid until 2018, but the Argentine's contract includes a 250 million euro buyout clause.
