Emilijus Zubas will continue his career in the highest league in Denmark. On Wednesday evening, the Lithuanian national team goalkeeper E.Zubas put his signature on a contract with the "Viborg" team, which was confirmed by Futbolo.TV himself.
The main colors of the club founded in 1896 are green and white. "Viborg" plays their home matches at the "Viborg Arena" stadium, accommodating almost ten thousand football fans. In 2000, Zubo's new club triumphed for the first time in the Danish Cup tournament, and in the same year "Viborg" also won the country's Super Cup. These are the biggest team achievements in its entire history.
Prior to this, the goalkeeper defended the honor of Larnaka AEK in Cyprus, but the Lithuanian did not stay in this country.
"By mutual agreement, I terminated the contract in Cyprus, so I had to look for a new job. The "Viborg" club had shown a desire to see me in the team since the summer, so I decided to accept their offer," - Emilijus spoke to Futbolo.TV shortly after signing the contract.
"The Danish championship is undoubtedly of a good level, I hope to gain playing practice and help the team achieve their goals," - the national team goalkeeper was determined.
In addition to the Lithuanian, "Viborg" currently defends the honor of players from Slovakia, Norway, Chile, Macedonia, USA, Brazil, and Sweden. The main competitor for the first goalkeeper position for E.Zubas will be Slovak Michal Peškovič.
E.Zubas will be loaned to the Danish team from Riga's "Daugava" until the end of the season.
