On Sunday, four matches of the XXII round of the "Primera" championship were played in Spain.
In front of their home crowd in Madrid, "Atletico" defeated San Sebastian's "Real Sociedad" eleven and climbed to the first place in the tournament table.
The hosts were led to victory by David Villa, who had to leave the field in the 41st minute. It is not yet known whether the footballer suffered a serious injury.
Later, two quick goals were scored into the "Real Sociedad" net. Diego Costa scored in the 72nd minute, and just two minutes later Miranda scored a goal.
At the end of the match, the team led by Diego Simeone scored the last goal of the game. In the 87th minute, Diego, who returned to the Madrid team only on Friday, scored.
Meanwhile, in the city of Bilbao, the other capital team "Real" did worse. The "Athletic" club snatched a draw against the Spanish vice-champions at their stronghold.
The first goal was scored in the 66th minute, when Jese scored, but shortly after an impressive strike by Diego Lopez neutralized Ibai Gomezas.
The most interesting moment of the match was recorded in the 76th minute. Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off the field, as his behavior towards the referee's assistant appeared unsportsmanlike and a red card was shown.
After the victory, "Atletico" climbed to the first place and gained a 3-point advantage over the footballers of "Barcelona" and Madrid's "Real".
