Participant of the trial, attacker from Cyprus Kristis Andreou signed a contract with the Vilnius city football club "Žalgiris".
The 19-year-old K. Andreou arrived for the tryout of the capital's team at the beginning of the preparation camp in Cyprus.
He participated in several training sessions and played friendly matches against Krasnoyarsk "Yenisey".
The 19-year-old forward left a positive impression on "Žalgiris" head coach Marek Zub.
"He is a really good footballer. He played successfully for the Cyprus youth national teams.
K. Andreou is still very young. By playing in his home country, he did not have the opportunity to improve.
A young player needs to play, compete for a place in the main squad, spend more time on the field. I hope that by playing for our team he will flourish," said the "Žalgiris" coach.
K. Andreou previously belonged to Limassol AEL club in the top league of Cyprus. He made his debut in the main team at the age of just 15, scoring two goals in three matches.
The forward represented Cyprus 3 times for U-17, 6 times for U-19, and U-21 youth national teams.
K. Andreou has already played for a foreign club. In the 2012-2013 season, he tasted the life of a legionnaire in the Czech Uherske Gradiste "Slovacko" team.
