"Kaunas" had the chance to meet "Liverpool" © EuroFootball.com

Today, Friday, the draw for the qualifying rounds of the Champions League took place. It was revealed that the 2004 A League champions FBK will once again face Faroe Islands' HB Torshavn team in the first round, just like two years ago.

This time, the Lithuanian champions have been given a historic chance to play against a famous club - if successful, in the second round the Kaunas city team would face Wales' TNS and the winner of the previous season's Champions League match.

"Kaunas" will travel to the Faroe Islands on July 12/13, and the return match will be played at home. If the Kaunas team does not stumble against the semi-professional team from the Faroe Islands, and TNS fails to produce a sensation against Liverpool, the European champions will visit Kaunas on July 26 or 27, and the Lithuanians will travel to England on August 2/3.
