"Hamburger" club officially announced that they have relieved Dutchman Bert van Marwijk of his duties as head coach.
The German team competed in the "Bundesliga" championship against "Braunschweig" last night. "Hamburger" could not avoid defeat, and this match was the last for the strategist.
"We assessed our situation and were forced to dismiss van Marwijk. We want to thank this coach for his efforts," said the team's sports director Oliver Kreuzer.
The former coach of the Dutch national team joined the Hamburg team only in September 2013, but he lost his job at the club even before the season ended.
In the German championship, "Hamburger" occupies the second to last place, but at least five teams have a slight points advantage."
