G.Martin: Now is the Right Time to Start the Battles in the Champions League © EuroFootball.com

After an impressive victory against Madrid's Rayo Vallecano, the strategist of the Catalan team praised the sporting form of his players.

"Barcelona" wiped out their opponents with a score of 6:0 at the Camp Nou stadium and are in high spirits as they prepare for the upcoming Champions League matches.

"It's always nice when you manage to score early in the game. It makes it easier to control the course of the match, and this time we did it. I think we delighted our fans and next time there will be at least twenty thousand more of them at their stadium," noted Gerardo Martino, referring to the Barcelona matches in the Copa del Rey tournament, which were watched from the nearly empty Camp Nou stands.

However, the strategist of the Catalan team was not inclined to exaggerate the crushing victory against the Spanish league's underdogs and preferred to talk about the future matches.

"Now is indeed the right time to try to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Many of my players have gained very good form, and in the match against Manchester City, those who control the ball longer will have more opportunities," pondered the Argentine.

By the way, earlier G. Martino has stated that Barcelona players will no longer be rotated as actively as they were at the beginning of the season.

"If I continued with frequent rotations, the players would be ready for the World Cup, not the most important matches at the club," noted the coach of the Catalan team.
