Almost after a two-month break, the UEFA Champions League returns. On Tuesday, the round of 16 matches of the 2013-14 season begin.

Today football fans can choose from two matches. Those are "Manchester City" - "Barcelona" and Leverkusen "Bayer" - Paris "Saint-Germain" clashes.

"Manchester City" - "Barcelona" Perhaps the most interesting round of 16 pair. The favorite is certainly unclear and both teams have equal chances to win a ticket to the quarterfinals. The first clash will take place in Manchester, at the "Etihad" stadium. These clubs have never met in the Champions League before.

In the latest Spanish “Primera” league matches, "Barca" unpleasantly surprised the "cityzens". In front of their fans, they won 6-0 against Madrid's "Rayo Vallecano". In the country's championship, the Catalans and the Madrid team have 60 points each, but due to goal difference, they are in first place.

"Man City" will play in the Champions League round of 16 for the first time in the club's history. The "Man City" squad has not been successful in the Premier League lately and only managed to get one point in the last two matches. On February 3 at the "Etihad" stadium, they suffered a minimal loss to London's "Chelsea", and with the "Norwich" team they drew, currently occupying the third place in England. However, it is worth mentioning that in the FA Cup last weekend, Manuel Pellegrini's team took revenge on the "Chelsea" club with a score of 2-0.

"Bayer" Leverkusen - Paris "Saint-Germain" At first glance, it seems that the French champions should easily surpass the German barrier, but the ball is round and neither team should be written off. The "Bayer" team will have a slight advantage in the first match as they will play in Leverkusen, although the decisive match will move to Paris.

The team coached by Sami Hyypia remained in second place in the group stage of the Old Continent's tournament with three wins. Paris Saint-Germain did not have an easy group either, but with 13 points they finished first, leaving behind Piraeus "Olympiacos", Lisbon's "Benfica" and Brussels' "Anderlecht".

In the Bundesliga match last Saturday, the "Bayer" players suffered a defeat against Schalke from Gelsenkirchen. Nevertheless, the Leverkusen city team remains in second place in Germany.

Match prediction: Understandably, the main favorite in this pair is the PSG club. The Parisians, who withdrew from the tournament in the quarterfinals last season, should celebrate victory in Leverkusen with a score of 0-2.
