The Vilnius city football club "Žalgiris" has signed a contract with Brazilian player Andrezinho, who participated in a trial.
The 28-year-old defender played in three friendly matches during the Lithuania champions' training camp in Cyprus.
In the match against Plzen's "Viktoria", the newcomer from the capital team appeared on the field as a substitute. In the games against Yerevan's "Mika" and Sofia's "Levski", he played from the beginning.
In the match against the Bulgarian club, Andrezinho had a great opportunity to score a goal, but his shot hit the crossbar.
"He's a very interesting football player. He slightly reminds me of Pavel Komolov. Andrezinho has international competition experience, which is his advantage.
He's a good attacking defender. I hope he will become an important pillar for our team," said "Žalgiris" head coach Marekas Zubas.
Andrezinho played in the Malaysia Super League for "Johol Darul Takzim" last season. In this team, the newcomer from Vilnius played in 27 matches and scored 3 goals.
After finishing in 3rd place in the Malaysia championship, "Johol Darul Takzim" strengthened their squad. Former Argentina national team players Pablo Aimar and Luciano Figueroa joined the club.
Andrezinho spent most of his professional football career in his homeland, representing clubs such as "Clube de Remo", "Corinthians", "Guarani", "Paulista", and "Mogi Mirim".
In 2009, the Brazilian played for China's "Hangzhou Greentown". In 2010/11, he tasted the life of a foreign player at Budapest's "Ferencvarosi", where he scored 3 goals in Hungary.
