London striker Mateja Kezman may soon end up in Madrid club, says the player's agent.
M. Kezman arrived at the London club for £5 million from Eindhoven's "PSV" last summer, but the Serb failed to establish himself in the starting lineup of Jose Mourinho's team and repeatedly complained about the lack of playing time.
The striker's agent Vlado Lemeicas, who recently met with "Atletico" president Carlos Bianchi, said that his client's move to "Atletico" is possible.
"Madrid's "Atletico" is one of the biggest clubs in Spain, although recently things have not been going well for them," said V. Lemeicas. "The most important thing is for the clubs to agree. I don't think these negotiations will take long - by next week we should hear a clear 'yes' or 'no'."
It does not seem likely that London "Chelsea" coach Jose Mourinho, who has already allowed dissatisfied Scott Parker to leave the club for "Newcastle," would stand in the way of a possible move for M. Kezman.
Furthermore, J. Mourinho has been looking for a high-class striker for some time, one who would do what M. Kezman did not do - score goals regularly.
In addition to "Atletico," the striker of the Serbia and Montenegro national team is also reportedly attracting interest from "Liverpool," "Charlton," "Sevilla," "Schalke," and Lisbon's "Benfica."
