London's Arsenal club announced two great news on Tuesday. It was reported that two footballers have extended their contract with the team.
These players are defender Per Mertesacker, who will remain in the Gunners' ranks at least until 2017, and long-time team captain Tomas Rosicky, although he signed for one year less.
"We are delighted to announce that Mertesacker and Rosicky have extended their contracts," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on the official club website.
German P. Mertesacker has been a strong starting player this season and has been playing in London since 2011. Meanwhile, 33-year-old A. Rosicky has been wearing the Arsenal jersey since 2006.
It is worth mentioning that there have been reports in the English press that Aaron Ramsey, who is currently recovering from an injury, will also soon decide his future with Arsenal.
