A look at Portugal's "Primeira" league: "Porto" loses hope of defending the title (table) © EuroFootball.com

With nine rounds left until the end of the season, the portal "EuroFootball.com" has taken a look at the tournament situation in Portugal's "Primeira" division.

The footballers of Lisbon's "Benfica" occupy the first place with 52 points, but they are fiercely chased by the "Sporting" club, which finished last season in seventh place.

It seems that "Porto" will lose the dramatically won championship title from last year. The team led by Paulo Fonseca is in third place with 43 points.

Interestingly, the last place in the tournament table is held by the "Pacos de Ferreira" team, even though they finished third last season.

The European giants are hunting down Jackson Martinez, who is currently the top scorer in the championship. The Colombian has scored 14 goals, but he is closely followed by Fredy Montero (13 goals) and Derley (11 goals).
