The first stage matches of the Intertoto Cup tournament have ended. After Vilnius team "Vėtra" withdrew from the tournament, which today lost to Cluj's "Ecomax" team, the honor of Lithuania will be defended by another capital team "Žalgiris", who will face a team from Latvia.
"Žalgiris" awaits a clash with Daugavpils "Dinaburg" club in the next round, having defeated "Bangor City" from Wales 2-0 in the second leg match and securing a spot in the second stage with an overall score of 4-1.
If "Žalgiris" manages to defeat the Latvians, in the third stage they would face "Egaleo" club from Greece.
The second stage of the Intertoto Cup will take place on July 2nd and 10th. "Žalgiris" is set to play the first match against "Dinaburg" at home, and the second match away in Daugavpils.
