FK "Trakai" has already signed a contract with the fourth football player in its career who has worn the jersey of the Lithuanian national team. Forward Tadas Labukas has connected his future with the A Lyga debutants.
"I wanted to be closer to my family and I wanted to play. Sitting on the bench of "Torpedo" Moscow and just getting money for it - I didn't see the point. The most important thing is that the team wins. I want to return to the national team, and it's impossible to do that sitting on the bench," said the forward who returned to Lithuania at the beginning of this week, adding that the new coach Edgaras Jankauskas had the biggest influence on his club choice.
"It was enough for me to have a few training sessions to realize that Edgar's understanding of football is not Lithuanian, but European. There is a huge difference comparing to other coaches I have worked with. The training sessions are emphasized, everything is explained as clearly as possible. Our current goal is to understand each other as quickly as possible. The sooner we find out, the sooner we will get good results."
The football player claims to be in good physical shape and will try to debut with a goal in the match against "Klaipėda Granitas" on Monday.
"I am a forward, coaches and the team expect goals from me. I hope to score on Monday," said T. Labukas.
"Trakai" will play their debut match in the A Lyga on Monday at 18:30 at the Vilnius LFF Stadium.
