Seven-time Italian champion team returns to "Serie A" after a two-year break. It was revealed on Sunday, after the return leg match with the team.

In the first match, "Torino" had won 2-1, and despite losing the return match 1-0, they earned the right to play in the highest division of Italian football.

"Perugia" took the lead in the 21st minute, when they beat "Torino" goalkeeper Giuseppe Mascara. After the goal, both teams had several opportunities to score, but the result remained unchanged. During extra time, neither team was able to score, so the spot in "Serie A" was determined by the higher place in the "Serie B" championship earned by the Torino team.

Towards the end of the match, "Torino" player Gaby Mudingayi was sent off the field, but it had no impact on the outcome of the match and moments later, the 55 thousand "Dele Alpi" stadium filled with Torino fans erupted in joy.

At the beginning of the century, the Torino team was the most powerful Italian club, winning 6 championships, however, after the tragedy of 1949 when the entire Torino team died in a plane crash, the club struggled to regain its former glory. It's true that the team managed to win the "scudetto" in 1976, but afterwards the club constantly teetered on the edge of falling out of "Serie A".

"Torino" will return to "Serie A" next season along with and teams, and in this league they will replace the teams relegated to "Serie B", and Marius Stankevičius.
