On Sunday afternoon in England, three FA Cup quarter-final matches were played, after which it became clear which four teams will compete for the trophy.
A stunning victory at home was achieved by the "Hull City" team, eliminating the "Sunderland" players from the tournament.
All three goals were scored by the hosts within a ten-minute period in the second half: Curtis Davies scored in the 68th minute, David Meyler in the 72nd, and Matty Fryatt in the 77th.
In the semi-finals, Steve Bruce's team will face "Sheffield United," which today defeated the "Charlton Athletic" players.
In the other semi-final, London's "Arsenal" team will face the defending champions, the "Wigan" team. The latter, just like in last season's final, defeated the "Manchester City" players.
In the 27th minute, Jordi Gomez put his team ahead by converting a penalty kick from 11 meters. Martin Demichelis' mistake led to an own goal for his team.
At the start of the second half, the "city" team found themselves in a difficult situation, as James Perch scored from close range after two defensive errors.
After this goal, "Wigan" put pressure on the hosts' goal. The hosts' efforts paid off in the 68th minute, when Samir Nasri scored from distance.
Despite the city team's efforts, the "Wigan" team maintained their lead and reached the semi-finals. The team from the second division will have the opportunity to win the FA Cup for the second consecutive time. In the semi-finals, the teams will face the challenge of the hungry-for-titles "Arsenal" club.
