On Wednesday, the UEFA Champions League continues with the second leg matches of the round of 16, where two more teams will advance in the competition.
Barcelona welcomed Manchester City in front of their home fans, while Paris Saint-Germain sought to once again demonstrate superiority against Bayer Leverkusen.
In the match at Camp Nou stadium, Barcelona's team, who had already built a solid advantage in the first leg game, broke through to the next stage.
Gerardo Martino's team secured a victory with a minimal result against their opponents from Manchester. Lionel Messi's goal in the 67th minute was answered by Vincent Kompany at the end of the match, but Dani Alves restored the lead for the Blaugrana team.
In the 78th minute, Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta was sent off with two yellow cards, but that did not stop the visitors from scoring the equalizer.
However, the two-goal advantage built away from home allowed Barcelona to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Meanwhile, in Paris, PSG players defeated Bayer Leverkusen with a score of 2-1.
The Germans unexpectedly took the lead in the 6th minute through Sidney Sam. However, defender Marquinhos quickly equalized, and in the second half, Ezequiel Lavezzi led the PSG team to victory.
Bayer's situation worsened in the 68th minute when Emre Can was sent off, forcing the team to play with ten men for the remainder of the time.
Parisians successfully managed the rest of the match and celebrated a victory with an overall score of 6-1.
