Monday was the last day for "Serie A" clubs to come to an agreement regarding the shared rights of players. In Italy, it is allowed to acquire 50% of a player's rights, but when the time comes, clubs must either extend the agreement, buy out the other part of the player's rights, or participate in a "blind" auction.
The Italian champions, for 4.5 million euros, acquired the remaining part of the rights of the country's youth national team defender G.Chiellini from the team. However, clubs did not agree on F.Miccoli and E.Marescos, so they had to submit separate secret offers for the players, which the other party was not aware of. The auction is won by the club that offers the highest amount to buy out the player.
"Fiorentina" participated in a peculiar auction for two other players - Danish M.Jorgensen and Nigerian C.Obodo, for whom respectively and each hold half of the rights, but they also failed to reach an agreement with the ambitious leaders of the Florence club.
The auction held on Tuesday ended unsuccessfully for "Fiorentina" - "Juve" offered more money and acquired F.Miccoli and E.Maresca, while the young C.Obodo returns to "Perugia" playing in "Serie B." The team only retains M.Jorgensen, as "Fiorentina" offered more money for him than "Udinese."
Most of the other top-league clubs have settled these matters earlier: "Udinese" bought out A.Di Natale, extended the rights to S.Almiron and E.Cribari, and will retain Amauri for another year, while selling the rights to M.Marazzina; they bought out R.Bianchi and S.Makinwa, E.Bonazzoli will remain in the team temporarily.
"Palermo" acquired the remaining half of the rights to A.Gasbarroni from "Juventus," sold part of G.Curci to the club, will continue sharing rights with the capital team for C.Bovo and V.Virga, albeit Bovo will return to "Roma," and Virga will move to the Sicilian team.
Meanwhile, "Udinese" was also busy with other deals - they sold defender Per Kroldrup to for 6.8 million euros and acquired four players from "Atalanta." The talented youth national team defender M.Motta, forward F.Rossini, two young players joined the "Udinese" playing in the Champions League, while T.Manfredini and A.D'Agostino moved to "Atalanta."
