After saying goodbye to coach Luciano Spalletti, the search for a new strategist did not take long for the leaders of Zenit club in Saint Petersburg. A week after the announcement of the Italian's dismissal, the Russian team officially announced that they had reached an agreement with coach Andre Villas-Boas from Portugal.

The former coach of Porto, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur, according to the new contract, should train Zenit team until the summer of 2016.

It is reported that the official signing of the contract will take place on March 20th. The day before - on March 19th - the Saint Petersburg team will play the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 match against Borussia Dortmund. The first match in Russia was won by the German team with a score of 4:2.

36-year-old A. Villas-Boas was compared to the famous Jose Mourinho a few years ago when he took over the reins of Chelsea in London. However, the young strategist's career in England did not go well - he was dismissed from both London clubs.
