Serbia and Montenegro national team and London's forward Mateja Kežman, who is worth 9 million euros, is set to move to Madrid.
According to the president of the Spanish club, Enrique Cerezo, Kežman should be officially presented to the team's fans this week, after passing a medical check-up. With the new team, the 25-year-old Serb will sign a three-year contract.
However, the head of the Madrid team also admitted that Kežman still needs to finalize some formalities with his current club.
"Finally, we managed to reach an agreement with Chelsea and Kežman himself," said Cerezo. - "It is true that Mateja still needs to finalize some formalities with his team, but I have no doubt that he will join our team this week."
M. Kežman arrived at the London club for 5 million pounds from Eindhoven's PSV last summer, but the Serb did not establish himself in the starting lineup of Jose Mourinho's team and repeatedly complained about a lack of playing time.
In England, the player scored only 4 goals last season, while in the Netherlands, he scored 105 times in 123 matches.
