London's "Tottenham" club strategist Tim Sherwood hopes to stay at the helm of the team next season.

As the main candidate to coach the London club next season, betting companies name Netherlands national team strategist Louis Van Gaal, but before the UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg matches, T. Sherwood stated that he does not promise to leave the "Spurs" team.

"I am often asked about that, of course, he wants to work in England. He is a good coach, so he will get such an opportunity."

Asked about rumors linking the "Tottenham" team with Dnipro's safe Yevhen Konoplyanka, the coach replied that nothing specific is happening at the moment.

"There is a lot of talk about Konoplyanka, but at the moment there is nothing concrete. Before acquiring footballers, we have to observe them for a longer period. Of course, we will buy new players, but without my knowledge, no one will come. Otherwise, it cannot be," said T. Sherwood.

"The coach works with the players, so his task is easier if the team has the players desired by the strategist. Otherwise, the coach will always have an excuse that he did not assemble the team."

"I know what kind of players I need to strengthen the team and move forward."

"It does not depend solely on me, but I think I will stay here next season. Players play for their future in the club," assured the 45-year-old coach.
