The former strategist of Barcelona, Rijkaard, has decided not to return to professional football.
The 51-year-old Dutchman left his position as the coach of the Saudi Arabian national team last year and has not worked as a coach for any team since.
The coach stated that it is unlikely that he will work as a football coach in the future: "At the moment, I don't think I will be a coach anymore."
"I have no desire to return. I am happy with everything I have achieved in football, but now I enjoy watching games and discussing them. I don't want to be a 60-year-old standing on the sidelines," said the Dutchman.
During his 15-year coaching career, F. Rijkaard has coached the Dutch national team, Rotterdam's Sparta club, Barcelona, Istanbul's Galatasaray, and the Saudi Arabian national team.
The Dutchman was most successful at the helm of the Catalan team, where he coached from 2003 to 2008.
With Barca, F. Rijkaard won the Spanish La Liga twice, the country's Super Cup twice, lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy once, and was named the best coach in the world in 2006.
