The "Borussia" club from Dortmund officially announced on Sunday afternoon that their captain Sebastian Kehl will stay with the team for another year.
The 34-year-old veteran will remain in the ranks of the "yellow and blacks" for one more season, and then not only leave "Borussia" but also bid farewell to his football career.
"We are very happy that Sebastian will stay in the club until 2015 and finish his impressive career wearing 'Borussia' shirts," said sports director Michael Zorc.
Kehl himself also expressed his joy: "Borussia is a wonderful team with excellent players. Dortmund has been my home for many years."
The German playing in the defensive midfield position joined the team of the Bundesliga runners-up in 2001. Throughout his football career, Kehl played 395 matches and scored 32 goals.
