The Munich "Bayern" club was fined 10,000 euros and will have to close part of the "Allianz Arena" stands during the upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against "Manchester United". Such a fine was imposed on the Bavarian club, which holds the title in Germany and the Champions League, for a homophobic poster.
During the Champions League round of 16 match against London's "Arsenal" on March 11th, Bavarian fans raised a poster mocking the German Mesut Ozil.
Due to this incident, the part of the stadium where the mentioned poster was raised will be without spectators. UEFA made this decision, specifying that no spectators will be allowed in sector 124 for this match.
It is said that this decision will not affect the arriving fans of "Manchester United" - they will receive as many places as is usually allocated to visiting team supporters.
It is worth noting that "Bayern" defeated "Arsenal" in London 2:0, and played a draw at home 1:1. The Bavarians advanced to the quarter-finals, where they will play against "Manchester United". The matches will take place on April 1st in Manchester and on April 9th in Munich.
