"Barcelona" defender Martin Montoya has signed a new contract with the Catalan club.
Last week, the Catalan club announced the successful completion of negotiations with the footballer, and on Friday, Montoya, who will turn 23 in the middle of April, extended his cooperation with "Barcelona" for another four seasons.
The new defender's contract is valid until June 30, 2018. It includes a buyout clause of 20 million euros. Any other team interested in acquiring the player without direct negotiations with the Catalan club would have to pay that amount.
Montoya's previous contract with Barcelona was set to expire this summer, but like Marc Bartra, who has already signed a new contract, he did not take the opportunity to freely search for a new club.
Both Montoya himself and his agent, Josep Maria Orobitgas, have stated that they give priority to Barcelona. According to the agent, his client rejected offers from Napoli and Inter Milan.
