Overall, in the 2005 football tournament of Lithuanian seniunijos schools (12-14 year old students), 259 teams from ten Lithuanian counties expressed their desire to participate. The most numerous teams came from Panevezys county - 46 teams. The winner of this county was the team from Smilgiai secondary school, which received an additional prize. The young footballers were taken to Vilnius to see "The Prodigy" concert. This tournament was organized by the Lithuanian Football Federation. The main sponsor was the mobile card "Ežys", with support from the Department of Physical Education and Sports.

Already from the beginning of April, the winners of the county teams were determined in the competitions held in the seniunijos of Lithuania. All the finalist teams gathered at the Kaunas football arena, where they competed against each other for three days to determine the winner of the "Ežiogolo" Cup in 2005 - J. Dobkevicius secondary school from Kaunas city. Second place went to the students of Elektrenai "Versme" gymnasium. Third place - Telšiai "Kranto" secondary school, fourth place - Panevezys "Smilgiai" secondary school team.

The strongest 10 "Ežiogolo" teams were accommodated together at the "Sporto" hotel. During their free time after the matches, they visited the Kaunas Zoo, and also 150 young footballers had a great opportunity to watch the matches of the favorites of the Lithuanian Premier League - FBK Kaunas and Panevezys "Ekranas" at the S. Darius and S. Girenas Stadium. And the winners of the 2005 "Ežiogolo" will be able to share their experiences from Denmark after returning from the trip, which was a gift for the first place.

All participating children were awarded participant certificates, the prize-winning teams received a beautiful trophy, medals, and the best players in each position were also awarded.

The 2005 "Ežiogolo" football tournament was special - each team had to have a girl playing, and during the tournament, fans were invited to cheer for their team. It was joyful that young fans actively supported their school team, as well as family members gathered to watch the matches. So "Ežiogolo" - a celebration for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest football fan.

The awards ceremony was attended by LFF vice president Aivaras Vyšniauskas, Kaunas county president Romanas Levinskas, and "Ežis" coordinator Jūratė Jonikienė. All the honorable guests were delighted with the successful "Ežiogolo" project, which resonated throughout Lithuania. According to the president of the Lithuanian Football Federation Liutauras Varanavicius, it is expected to bring together over 500 teams for a similar tournament next year.

Therefore, it is hoped that this goal will be achieved. The Lithuanian Football Federation sincerely thanks everyone who contributed to the organization of "Ežiogolo." This year the organizers are not saying goodbye yet, but are parting with "Ežiogolo" very briefly - until next year.
