Today Kakhaber Kaladze signed a new contract with the club and at the same time put an end to all rumors about a possible move to Chelsea. According to the new contract, the Georgian will represent the Italian club until 2010.
Kaladze, who has failed to establish himself in the starting lineup over the past five seasons, did not hide his disappointment about the failed transfer: "Of course, I am a little disappointed that I couldn't move to Chelsea, but I can't do anything about it," said the player.
"The two clubs couldn't reach an agreement, so I am still a Milan player, and that's not bad."
Last season, Kaladze played only nineteen matches. The competition for a place on the field is expected to increase even more after Milan signed another defender this summer - Czech Marek Jankulovski.
