G.Martino: we couldn't compete the way we wanted © EuroFootball.com

"Atletico" from Madrid is a very awkward opponent for the "Barcelona" team coached by Gerardo Martino this season.

This season, the Catalans have not been able to beat Diego Simeone's team in five matches.

The last defeat was the most painful - "Barcelona" was forced to exit the Champions League tournament.

"When 'Atletico' was the better team, they scored a goal. We also created opportunities and just one accurate shot could have changed the course of the game," - said G. Martino after the match.

"Due to the opponent's imposed style of play, we couldn't compete the way we wanted. 'Atletico' kept many players near the penalty area and made our task difficult.

In Europe, it would be hard to find a counterpart for the fans gathered in the 'Vicente Calderon' stadium, it resembles more of Argentina.

Now we will continue to fight in the remaining tournaments - in the 'Primera' league and the Spanish Cup."
