"Manchester City" is considering the possibility of making an offer for Athletic Bilbao star Iker Muniain this summer.
The current 21-year-old footballer's contract is valid until 2015, with a release clause of 18 million euros, which Manuel Pellegrini is planning to use.
Initially, Athletic club hoped to insert a release clause of 50 million euros in the contract, so the future of I. Muniain will depend only on his own decision.
Currently, the Spaniard earns 2.4 million euros, and the "citizens" are ready to double his salary.
I. Muniain has been playing for Bilbao since 2009. During this time, the midfielder has played 207 matches and scored 29 goals.
It is reported in the press that Manchester's team may also strengthen this summer with Eliaquim Mangala, Fernando, William Carvalho, and Luke Shaw.
