The champion of Spain, "Barcelona," will still be able to make transfers in the player market this summer. The club's appeal will be considered and the decision to ban the club from acquiring players is temporarily suspended.
At the beginning of this month, the FIFA disciplinary committee fined the Spanish Football Federation and "Barcelona" for not complying with the regulations on the transfer of young players under the age of eighteen from one team to another and their illegal registration.
As the FIFA website announces, "Barcelona" violated the regulations on youth transfers from team to team as many as 10 times from 2009 to 2013, so action had to be taken instead of prevention.
FIFA banned "Barcelona" from conducting two cycles of transfers between teams, both internally and internationally, and fined the club 450 thousand Swiss francs (369 thousand euros).
"Barcelona" disagreed with this FIFA decision and filed an appeal, which will be considered this summer. The head of the appeal committee, Larry Mussenden, stated that the appeal will not be reviewed until July 1st, when the summer transfer window begins, so the ban had to be suspended.
This decision allows the leaders of "Barcelona" to acquire new players this summer. One of the main candidates to strengthen the team is "Chelsea" defender David Luiz.
