On Tuesday, David Moyes, who was dismissed from his position as head coach of Manchester United, stated that he was proud to have been able to train this team.
The 50-year-old Scot was fired after 10 months of work due to poor results of the "Red Devils" team, and was replaced by the still playing Ryan Giggs.
"I am extremely proud to have had the honor of training such a huge club. It was truly a great challenge for me to take over the reins of a team that had been playing successfully for years at the highest level," Moyes affirmed.
"Before the season, we set only the highest goals for ourselves, but we did not succeed in either the Champions League or the English Championship. I perfectly understand that the fans were disappointed with these results, as they were used to seeing this club in a leadership position.
"Training the Man Utd club is an invaluable experience. I am delighted that we managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League and I am very grateful to Alex Ferguson for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to lead the Manchester team," concluded the coach who is now without a job.
