Bayern Munich's honorary president Franz Beckenbauer was disappointed with the team's performance in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
The German football legend criticized Pep Guardiola's team after they suffered a narrow defeat against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
"I have never seen Real defend so well. But Bayern made it easier for them - the team lacked dynamism and aggression," said the 68-year-old German.
"Perhaps Bayern did not expect the opponents to play like that. It was one of the best matches of the royal club I have ever seen."
"They changed the pace of the game as they wanted. They attacked suddenly and then immediately withdrew. If it had been 3-0 before the break, the match would have needed to be stopped."
"Madrid players played a higher level of football, they were better and faster. It was a deserved victory, but there are still second leg matches. It is possible to eliminate this deficit, but it will be difficult and dangerous," said F.Beckenbauer.
