On Tuesday evening, the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals was played, and the second finalist was determined.
At "Stamford Bridge" stadium, London's "Chelsea" and Madrid's "Atletico" faced off. After a thrilling match, the Spanish visitors defeated the "Blues" with a score of 1-3, advancing to the final for the second time in the club's history.
The first leg between these teams at the "Vicente Calderon" stadium ended in a draw, so at least one goal meant there would be no extra time in London.
Starting the match strongly, Jose Mourinho's side took the lead in the 36th minute when Fernando Torres scored a great goal after a precise pass from Cesar Azpilicueta.
However, the "Rojiblancos" did not break, and at the end of the first half, Adrian scored a crucial goal for the visitors.
In the second half, "Chelsea" had chances to score, but in the 60th minute, the referee's decision ultimately dashed their hopes when a penalty was awarded. Diego Costa successfully converted it, putting "Atletico" ahead.
The final blow in this match was dealt by Arda Turan, who scored in the 72nd minute.
In the Champions League final in Lisbon, "Atletico" will face none other than Madrid's "Real" club. It will be a historic match, as teams from the same city have never met in the final before.
For the prestigious European trophy, the two rival Madrid clubs will clash on May 24th.
