"Real Madrid defender Luis Figo has expressed his desire to spend the next season at the club and has asked his team to release him to England.
The future of the Portuguese in Madrid hung by a thread after the team's coach Wanderlei Luxemburgu usually left the defender on the bench at the end of the season. The player himself was unhappy with this and expressed his desire to change teams.
At first, the "Royal" club seemed to agree to release the former star without a transfer fee. In this way, L. Figo began negotiations with Liverpool and, as the agent announced, has already agreed on personal contract details.
Unfortunately, "Real" soon changed their mind and now they are asking for 2 million pounds for the services of the full-back. Meanwhile, "Liverpool" does not seem willing to pay the requested amount at least for now.
"I don't understand a club that doesn't see me in their future plans, but at the same time doesn't want to release me," pondered the 32-year-old defender. "I have a dream to play in the Liverpool club, but dreams don't always come true, so I'll have to wait."
