Lithuanian national team striker Robertas Poškus "opened" his goal account at the St. Petersburg "Zenit" club - he scored in the Russian Cup sixteenth-final match and helped his team secure a draw away against "Kuban".
Despite "Kuban" taking the lead after a goal by R.Baiano in the 25th minute, Poškus equalized the score four minutes into the second half. Although "Zenit" couldn't defeat the opponents, thanks to the away goal he still remains a favorite and will be able to beat the opponent in the second leg next week.
Despite the draw, Vladimir's "Torpedo" advanced to the next round after defeating Moscow's "CSKA" with D.Šemberas playing the entire match. Meanwhile, A.Jankauskas's Perm "Amkar" avenged their previous failure against Toljach's "Lada" club and also advanced to the quarter-finals. Vladikavkaz's "Alania" forced Chita's "Lokomotiv" to surrender - D.Žutautas did not play, while N.Barasa played until the 58th minute.
