The forward of the Lithuanian national team mutually terminated the contract that had been in effect for one more year with the 2004 UEFA Champions League winners. Saying goodbye to the Portuguese club, the Lithuanian officially left a heartfelt farewell message on the club's website: "The year spent at Porto was the best in my career. I learned a lot playing for such a team. Everyone was very pleasant to me, starting from the president to the driver. They are wonderful people, whom I can only speak well of and whom I will definitely not forget. Thank you for the attention and I wish you success." Last season, the Lithuanian forward played in a club in France, but E. Jankauskas categorically rejected the possibility of staying in the French resort.
