Two players from London club - Jose Antonio Reyes and Gael Clinchy on Friday secured their future with the English club by signing new long-term contracts.

The 21-year-old forward J.A. Reyes' new contract will be valid until 2011, while the defender G. Clinchy, who is a couple of years younger, will remain with "Arsenal" at least until the summer of 2010.

There were rumors that J.A. Reyes would return to play in Spain this summer, from where he only arrived in the English capital last year. Madrid actively pursued the services of the footballer, but the London team managed to convince the Spaniard to stay. In a year, the young forward wore the "Arsenal" shirt 66 times and scored 17 goals.

"I am very happy to have extended my contract and I hope to have many successful years with the club in the future," said J.A. Reyes. "I am currently intensively preparing for the new season, during which I will make a special effort to help the team win all possible trophies."

G. Clinchy, a member of the French youth national team who has played 46 matches with the "gunners", also expressed his joy about the new contract.

"I also hope that we will win titles next season. This way, I will have the opportunity to prove to the club and its fans that they were right to offer me a new contract," he said.
