Players from Madrid, Luis Figo and Walter Samuel, could follow their former teammate Santiago Solari to Italy and end up in the Milan team this week, according to agent Peppino Tirri, who works as an intermediary between the clubs.
"I've heard talks about Ronaldo returning to Inter and Adriano moving to Real, but they just make me laugh. The only names mentioned in negotiations between Inter and Real are Figo and Samuel," said Tirri.
Although Inter President Massimo Moratti denied that he would go to Madrid to finalize negotiations, Ernesto Bronzetti, along with FIFA agent Peppino Tirri, is finishing up the final details. According to Tirri, the process took longer because Real was looking for replacements for the departing players.
"Negotiations are moving forward. On Tuesday or Wednesday, both players could already be wearing Inter shirts. Real did not rush to negotiate because they were looking for players to replace, but Samuel and Figo will become Inter players," the agent said.
Portuguese national team full-back Figo had already agreed with Liverpool, but the latter failed to reach an agreement with Real, and then Inter stepped in, whose good relationship with the Madrid club helped reach an agreement. Thus, Figo should soon sign a two-year contract with the Milan team, earning around 3.6 million euros per season.
Meanwhile, negotiations for former Roma defender Samuel have been underway for several weeks - it is still unclear whether he will be simply loaned out or purchased by Inter. In addition, Real wants to bring in a new player to take his place, and when that happens, the Argentine is likely to be able to return to play in Italy.
