The defender of the German national team moved from Munich to Bielefeld on Monday for an undisclosed sum. The 23-year-old footballer, who came to the Munich club from "Wolfsburg" for 2.5 million euros in 2003, failed to secure a place in the main "Bayern" lineup. The left-back represented the German national team seven times in 2003 (a total of 8 times in his career), but was no longer called up because he played little in the "Bayern" lineup. T.Rau appeared only 13 times in the German championship and played in UEFA Champions League matches three times. His playing opportunities greatly diminished upon the return of Bixente Lizarazu to "Bayern." With "Arminia," which finished 13th among the 18 "Bundesliga" teams last season, T.Rau signed a two-year contract.
