The strongest Lithuanian team of the past year, FBK "Kaunas", easily passed the first barrier of the UEFA Champions League qualifying round - the Kaunas team crushed the Torshavn "HB" team with a score of 4-0 and is waiting for their future opponent, which almost certainly will be "Liverpool".

In the first meeting on the Faroe Islands, "Kaunas" won 4-2, so in the second leg, which took place at the Vilnius "Vėtra" stadium due to the European Junior Athletics Championships, the Lithuanian champions' club only needed to maintain their lead.
However, the Kaunas team did not intend to defend and from the beginning of the match, they took the initiative to attack the opponents. A.Velička had the first opportunity, hitting the side with his head, and soon the same striker who scored twice in the first match missed the "HB" goalkeeper, but his shot did not hit the target.
After playing for half an hour, the guests had one chance, but the strike of a rare opportunity for the Torshavn team player did not succeed, and the ball flew over the goal. "Kaunas" continued to press the opponents, although the first goal was scored only due to a mistake by the "HB" goalkeeper, when he did not catch the ball, and A.Velička rushed to score into an open goal.
In the second half, "Kaunas" did not stop attacking - initially one of the most active players of the match T.Papečkys hit over the goal, and in the middle of the half, Papečkys tried again from a distance, and after the goalkeeper deflected the ball in front of him, he failed to score with a header instead of A.Klimek, A.Rimkevičius appeared on the field during halftime.
However, Rimkevičius quickly corrected his mistake when he broke into the penalty area and sent the ball into the net, doubling "Kaunas" lead. After missing a goal, the visiting team collapsed, and the hosts continued to attack - in the 74th minute Papečkys' penalty shot flew just past the post, and a few minutes later the goalkeeper saved Velička's attempt.
Feeling the taste of goals, the Kaunas team made the result crushing with nine minutes left until the end of the match - Velička sprinting towards the goal passed the ball to the unmarked Rimkevičius, who just had to send the ball into the empty goal and celebrate his second goal in this match.
At the start of extra time, defender I. Zelmikas also managed to score a goal with a header after a corner kick. "Kaunas" easily won and can now prepare for the second stage of the competition, which will start in a week and end on August 2-3.
