The Spanish media claims that Vigo, having returned to the highest league, does not seem to intend to leave it again after a year. Recently reinforced with Argentine national team defender Diego Placente and Brazilian forward Fernando Baiano, "Celta" now has their sights set on striker Antonio Nunez.
Antonio Nunez moved to Liverpool just a year ago. His transfer was part of a deal in which Michael Owen moved to Real Madrid. Although he played many matches in the Liverpool lineup, the Spaniard did not live up to the expectations of the English club's manager Rafael Benitez. Liverpool did not hide that they were looking for a new club for the player.
"Celta" president Horacio Gomezas stated that they have almost reached an agreement on the player's transfer, which should happen in the upcoming days.
"We have almost reached an agreement on the transfer," said H. Gomezas. "We are building a strong team that can compete now and in the future."
The Vigo team is also linked to a striker. However, H. Gomezas stated that they are only interested in the possibility of loaning the player, not buying him.
