This weekend the French championship ("Ligue 1") started. The defending champions "Lyon" players won the championship title in the only Sunday match away, thanks to J.Carew's goal, defeating "Le Mans" with a score of 1-2.

In the 36th minute of the match, after Anthony Reveillere's pass, S.Wiltord scored the first goal. In the second half, in the 56th minute, Vinicius De Melo managed to equalize the score with a shot from about four meters, but during the next attack of the guests, after a pass from the sideline, J.Carew outplayed a defender and headed the ball into the net. During the remaining time, the champions' players saw three yellow cards, but that didn't help "Le Mans" team to snatch even a point - "Lyon" won 1-2.

It is worth mentioning that in this match, "Lyon" defender M.Essien, who is wanted by London's "Chelsea" club, sat on the bench the whole time.
